Rothenburg ob der Tauber – a beloved touristic destination in Germany and one of the country's most exciting and good preserved medieval towns – attracts every year 2,5 million visitors. There's a thousand years of history packed between its cobbles and someone could spend here few lovely days visiting the touristic attractions and tasting the local culinary specialties.
For the small visitors and children living in the beautiful Rothenburg, the town offers 17 playgrounds. But one of them, located at the Hornburgweg, was recently re-build and opened on the 8th of July this year in the presence of the Mayor Walter Hartl, the city Master Builder Michael Knappe and the landscape architect Kerstin Gruber who evaluated the whole project which evolved over a period of 1.5 years.
After various preliminary plans, the final competition was among 5 companies. The decision criteria were: play value, balanced age structure, durability, design fitting to the ambience of the city wall in line with the predetermined budget. eibe has achieved the highest score with its planning and design and managed to bring this plan to life.
The main guests at the launching were 150 little knights and damsels who took the new playground by storm, testing all the challenging robinia elements of the new playground: climbers and balancing bars, tower, high quality slides and swings, water play area, the beautiful paradiso Winja for the smaller kids. This is the new adventure paradise built in front of the wall of the old town.
